The holiday season is in full swing but holiday parties like the Atlanta Blues Society one on Sunday are not the only special events this week.   Little Ed and The Blues Imperials are in town and so are Squirrel Nut Zippers.  But my first choice this week is slightly bittersweet because one of my favorite musicians is moving to Memphis. But he is having one fantastic farewell party pm Saturday!

Swami Gone Bananas is at Northside Tavern and there is an acoustic open mic with Bones at Nik’s Place in Marietta. The Larry Griffith Band is at Two Urban Licks.

Wednesday

Darwin’s has the blues jam with The Cazanovas. The Real Deal Blues Band is at Blind Willie’s and Frankie’s Blues Mission is at Fat Matt’s. Mudcat is at Northside Tavern. Zaib Kahn hosts the open blues jam at Nik’s Place and there’s a blues jam with Nick Edelstein & Friends at Cabbage Pie. Roger “Hurricane” Wilson and the Hurricane Homeboys is at Subourbon Bar in Kennesaw.

Thursday
