Live At Power Station
Vanessa Collier is from Clarksville, Md. She attended the Berklee College of Muisc in Boston and graduated with multiple degrees including Music Production. She toured the U.S. and Turkey with the Grammy winning Joe Louis Walker. Her self-produced debut introduced her mixture of blues. Since then Collier won Instrumentalist-Horn Player pf the Year in both 2019 and 2020 and received additional nominations during each of the last three years.
Her covers include “I Can’t Stand The Rain” written by Ann Peebles, Don Bryant and Bernard Miller. Another cover is her version of “Love Me Like A Man” written by Chris Smither and recorded by Bonnie Raitt. “When Love Comes To Town” is from Bono. Her self penned songs include the familiar “Two Parts Sugar, One Part Lime”.
Collier plays Alto and Tenor Saxophones, and Resonator Guitar along with her infectious vocals. Andrew Crane is on bass and Byron Cage on drums. Laura Chavez plays guitar and William Gorman keyboards. The album recorded in April of this year features photos by Laura Carbone and Joe Rosen.
