This Weekend: Indie Blues in and around Atlanta March 1-3
Mardi Gras is almost here and you can be celebrating already with live blues and some great Mardi Gras parties, like the one at Tony and Carmen’s house! If you want to go to it, and you should, there is an open invitation on Facebook and it will really help if you RSVP! Their back yard is amazing! Then there’s Zydefunk’s King Cake party two nights in a row! Other people in town this weekend include Biscuit Miller and The Mix, Paul Thorn and Amy Black, Marc Broussard, Selwyn Birchwood, Delta Moon – it’s a party weekend! Get out and join the fun!
Friday
Biscuit Miller & the Mix are at Darwin’s in Sandy Springs. The Zydefunk King Cake Party takes place at Northside Tavern. Custard Pie is at MoonShadow Tavern in Tucker and The Breeze Kings are at B’s Cracklin’ BBQ. Dani Mac & Company are at Full Throttle Roadhouse in Mableton. Paul Thor is at Variety Playhouse with Amy Black opening.
Saturday
Marc Broussard is at Variety Playhouse with Jamie McLean opening. Delta Moon visits Eddie’s Attic in Decatur. Selwyn Birchwood is at Blind Willie’s Darwin’s has Katie Martin’s Open Mic in the afternoon followed by The Ides of June. Bill Sheffield performs from 6-9 pm, followed by the 2nd night of the Zydefunk King Cake Party at Northside Tavern. Leonard Blues is at MoonShadow Tavern. No Solution plays from noon-1:30 pm at the Beer Bourbon & BBQ Festival at Atlantic Station Tribute, A Celebration of the Allman Brothers Band is at City Winery and The Larry Griffith Band is at The Painted Duck. Southern Avenue is at Smith’s Olde Bar. Mudcat is at Waller Coffee Shop in Decatur. The Breeze Kings are at Independent Grounds Cafe in Kennesaw.

There’s a Mardi Gras Party with Albert White at Carmen & Tony’s Back Yard in Stone Mountain. J Uncle Sugar is at Northside Tavern. WRFG has its annual Americana in the Park at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park.
