This weekend: Indie Blues in and around Atlanta August 2-4
What a lot of blues fun this week! Aside from the local bands, we have two touring groups this week. Tedeschi Trucks Band appears with Blackberry Smoke and Shovels & Rope at the Fabulous Fox and Boogie Woogie Blessing with Rev. Billy C. Wirtz happens at Blind Willie’s. In addition, there’s plenty of great blues all over Metro just waiting for you! Check it out!
Friday
Tedeschi Trucks Band appears with Blackberry Smoke and Shovels & Rope at the Fox Theatre. George Hughley & the Shadows are at Blind Willie’s and Northside Tavern has Nathan Nelson from 6-9, followed by Grant Green Jr.’s Birthday show. SaNa Band is at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack and Mandi Strachota performs at 6:30 pm, followed by The Mar-Tans at Gypsy Rose Music in Roswell. CJ Jones & the Spirit Bones appear at MoonShadow Tavern in Tucker and Thunder Gypsy performs from 6-9 pm at Duluth Food Trucks in Duluth. The Kerry Hill Band performs from 6:30-9:30 pm at Tucker Brewing Company.
Saturday
Tedeschi Trucks Band performs with Blackberry Smoke and Shovels & Rope at the Fox Theatre Big Bill Morganfield is at Blind Willie’s and Nathan Nelson is at Northside Tavern, followed by Cody Matlock. Rooster is at Full Throttle Roadhouse in Mableton and The Breeze Kings are at Gypsy Rose Music. Back to Memphis is at Moonshadow Tavern. Rod Hamdallah appears at The Earl and The Larry Griffith Band is at The Painted Pin. The Cazanovas perform from 6:30-9:30 pm at Tucker Brewing Company and The Juke Joint Dukes are at Two Urban Licks. Mudcat records live at Waller’s Coffee Shop in Decatur.
Sunday
Boogie Woogie Blessing with Rev. Billy C, Wirtz happens at 6:30 at Blind Willie’s. Swami and Dave perform from 6 to 8:30 pm, followed by Uncle Sugar at Northside Tavern and DuoRide, JB Walker & Rob Gater perform from 3-7 pm at Full Throttle Roadhouse.
