Slave To Sound Vol 5 The Muggs
Slave To Sound Vol 5
The Muggs
If proof was needed that honest, loud, driving rock n roll is still cutting it. You need look no further than the latest offering from Detroit rockers The Muggs.
“Slave To Sound Vol 5”is a collection of songs designed to get your toes tapping and hands clapping. What’s called in the business audience participation songs. With most” rock “ releases there will be a fair share of those included in the package.
With Slave To SoundVol 5 that’s the case with the majority tracks with one two exceptions, even those are a treat to the listeners ears . “After the ending” could certainly have been on the early Fleetwood Mac / Peter Green albums. But that’s no surprise as Tony Muggs is a huge fan of Peter Green . He is also a member of a Peter Green Tribute Band called “Rattlesnake Shake”.
The album kicks off in fine style with the title track Slave To Sound Vol5. This sets the tone for the entire album. Songs full of power pop/ rock n roll with some psychedelic rock with “Eye To Eye” and Fifties rock n roll with “Magnet And Steel”thrown in for good measure. Also a powerful version of the early Queen rock classic “Son And Daughter”.
As that wasn’t enough The Muggs try to put a shiver up and down your spines with a terrifying tale of what can happen to you camping out in the wilderness especially if “The Boogens”happen to be on the prowl for fresh victims.
The Creaking Door Presents” certainly got my attention here’s hoping there more episodes in store. Maybe an album of adventures of the spine tingling variety is exactly what’s needed. Perhaps a podcast Tony ? food for thought!
Slave To Sound Vol 5 is a complete album, something you will want to play from start to finish.
If music played loud and proud brimming over with heart and soul is your thing, then Slave To Sound Vol 5 is a definite requirement for your music collection.
