Scott Weis Band Live In Europe

Live In Europe
Independent
This is the Scott Weis Band’s 8th release. “Live In Europe” is a sound board recording of their typical sold out show. This is also a celebration as the release marks their 20th anniversary.
Weis grew up in North Jersey, and set his sights on learning from the best. Weis became a gopher at the legendary House of Music doing odd jobs. He became a backup guitarist for major recording artists to earn studio time. Weis began touring for many blues and rock artists. In 2011 Weis released “Almost There” but watched the album climb the charts from his hospital bed not knowing if he would recover from a broken neck. He returned to the stage in early 2012 after getting a call to open for Dickie Betts. He knew then not to give up and later that year became a Blues Hall of Fame Inductee in his respective state. Weis has shared the stage with Joe Cocker, Etta James, Greg Allman, Tinley Ellis, John Lee Hooker, Junior Wells, Sam McClain, and many others.
The Scott Weis Band, has over the years had lineup changes, but after ten years the original lineup reunited to record 2020’s “Simmer Me Down”, along for the ride was Robert Kopec, bass; and Roger Voss, drums. During this hiatus he recorded as Scott Weiss and Soul Krewe with a different rhythm section and a New Orleans styled flavor.
Four different songwriters contributed their talents, while all lead vocals are sung by the whiskey throated Weis. “Raise Your Hands”; “Pride and Soul”, with the lyric “you can’t take my pride”; and “Motherless” were written by Raven Straubing. “All Over Again”; my favorite “Jesus Just Left Chicago”, “and he was bound for New Orleans”; and “Bitch Please”, were written by Kultur Bahnhof Olsberg.
“Tennessee Whiskey” features some scorching guitar and a Joe Cocker sounding lowdown blues, “Mindless”, “Into Your Eyes”, “Something Is Wrong With My Baby”, and “Promise Land” are all from Tenne Oederan. While two more songs “Right Where It Belongs” and “Have You Ever Loved A Woman” were written by Blue Notez Dortmund.
Weis thanks the blues community, reviewers, radio, and especially the fans. The band takes the stage each night to give their all. You will enjoy these thirteen live tracks as the band celebrates their 20th anniversary.
