Making a Scene Presents an Interview with Scott Low
Scott Low is a Georgia-based singer-songwriter known for his soulful blend of blues, Americana, and Appalachian folk music. Originally from Athens, Georgia, Low spent years touring the country and performing up to 200 shows annually. In 2016, he relocated to the small mountain town of Clayton in Rabun County, where he founded Hatch Camp and Art Farm—a unique venue that combines fly fishing, art, and live music .
Low’s music reflects his eclectic influences, ranging from jazz and punk to Southern rock and traditional blues. His 2024 album, The Appalachian Blues, showcases his deep connection to the region’s musical heritage, blending Piedmont and Delta blues with elements of Appalachian folk. The album was well-received, with Flagpole Magazine noting that Low’s resonator guitar work and commitment to traditional blues structures set it apart from more commercially-driven contemporary blues
In addition to his musical endeavors, Low is actively involved in the local community through Hatch Camp and Art Farm, where he offers a space for creativity and connection. His performances, both solo and with his band, The Southern Bouillon, continue to resonate with audiences seeking authentic and heartfelt music.
