“Into The Hollow”

 Mothman and The Thunderbirds is the solo project from Alex Parkinson and“ Into the Hollow ”is the debut album. And what a one! The band name was inspired by a binge-watch session of the program Ancient Aliens and Alex thought, this name is just as dumb but also awesome and that’s how this original name came about.

The debut album is an absolute blast and not for the faint of heart. Hard and heavy is the best way to describe it, I think. 11 songs, each original, bursting with power and absolutely thrilling.

From the start with “Mothman Takes Flight”, a very cool introduction to the album and showing the direction in which it goes up to the last song “Hollow Sun” which somehow resembles a “forgiving” ending, in between even a little quieter … but just a little  like in the song “Cloud Giant” and with a lot of positive aggressiveness, the whole work is absolutely suitable for our time.

Acting on anxiety, isolation, global warming, war and everything that’s going on in the world, this album is not a cuddle record but rather something to think about but also very entertaining.

The scope of this album is remarkable and, I think, absolutely impressive for the first one. Conspiratorial songs with lyrics that make you sit up and take notice, no song like the other and yet there seems to be a certain concept behind it … absolutely worth listening to and with great attention to detail … for fans of stoner metal an absolute delight.

With so much creativity you can be excited about what “Mothman and The Thunderbirds” will offer us in the future when the bar was set so high with the first album.
