Making a Scene Presents an Interview with Marie Martens

Swedish born and raised Marie Martens takes the intensity and feeling of blues and various rock n roll and roots music to a new level. With the help of a slide and a wah-wah she enhances the experience of funky roves from swamp pop to rock ‘n’ roll and of course that always present deep blues.

Marie has also a long history of playing bass and guitar with various bands and styles of music and has recorded and toured around Europe, Asia with some of Sweden’s greatest blues and rock artists.

Marie is now based in the Chicago – Milwaukee area. Mainly working as a front person in her own band the Messarounds but on occasion picking up a bass and playing with some of Chicago’s great artists doing some 120+ gigs yearly.
