Making a Scene Presents The Independent Blues Award Winners 2024
Making a Scene Presents The 2024 Independent Blues Awards Winners!
This is the 9th year we have produced and honored independent blues artists with the Independent Blues Awards. The voting this year has broken all records and was the largest voting participation since we began.
As always we believe that not only are the winners worthy of acknowledgment we also believe all the nominees have earned their place as well. This is why under each of the winners banner all the nominees for that category are listed with links where you can listen to their releases and body of works on Spotify as well as access their websites and Amazon Links. We strongly suggest you listen to not only the winning artists but also all the nominated artists. Support them by adding your favorite songs to your playlists.
No other award gives you the opportunity to listen and explore all the artists both during and after the voting for the awards. We firmly believe it is important to support indie blues artists!
These artists are back on the road and touring again! When you see any of these artists in your area, you can make it a point to head to a show!

Blues is where it’s at. Making a Scene is one of the best at getting the blues out there.
Good job. Keep them blues alive. I support independent artists.
Noticing people like Caroline Cotto
Legitimate and a good promotional matlrketing tool for musical artists and music distribution ads.
PAWSOME!!!!
Love it
I love the fact that you cover so many genres beautifully!
Continue the great work!
I think you could open your media to European (and French !) artists… Not only Americans or Englishs each time… 😉
Yall doing great!
Awesome
Just keep “Making a Scene”. You are doing fine.
Thanks for polling.
Nothing in particular. You’re doing great!
How about including some Indie Authors who write books about Blues or have a blues Music Theme…
Keep it rollin!
Can you please make it so we can save as we go along for this type of voting! This was brutal. I didn’t know many of the artists and I want to get to know them before I make a choice. Your timing kept booting me, luckily I was recording my selections first, so could easily go back in a redo. Thanks for recognizing our Blues Artists and giving them kudos for their hard work! Need more international and Canadian artists listed!!!
Everything blues!
Just try and keep promoting excellent music. A wonderful production good lay out free to read fully accessible what’s not to like. Keep on trucking!
This was tiring. I just wanted to vote for one artist and I had to go through a bunch of artists I don’t even listen to. Can you guys make it where we can just for the artists we want because this was tiring and doesn’t make me want to comeback to vote again.

I’m new to the publication. Expand your horizons by offering a look back to the roots of blues too. I love the history and have many albums from the 60’s and 70’s. But I love to go back even further. Just an article every now and then. You may already have done these. Thank you.
I love you!
I’d like to know more about “Making A Scene” I like Blues Matters
Doing great, keep up the good work.
You guys are great!
Great Job!!!
I find it interesting that Blood Brothers won the Blues Music Award for Blues Rock Album of the year….and they weren’t even considered in the Blues Rock artist category….
Go on !!!
Keep it up Player
Cool
Awesome
I don’t think you should have to vote for bands you don’t know. Just vote the articles you want.
John Clifton is the best multi player in the blues era of my entire life and he’s the best of all genres and has a great supporting role to many others in music in his own home town! I am honored to have witnessed such a talented musician in the industry make an impact on the music scene itself and the community that we are all so grateful to be in in Fresno California! Thank you so much for your generosity to these amazing artists! Noelle
Good stuff!!
I am not a great music expert, but just love it, blues first. Thank you for what you are doing about.

All good
Continue Shining the light on Independent Artists and Labels. Spotlight on Blues Society’s may add another element in recognizing undiscovered talents.
I love what you do, digging up new artists and recognizing those who continue to be outstanding that don’t get the big time publicity. Thank you.
I just checked in to vote for my friend Nick Wade. I had to vote for a lot of crappy pseudo Blues just to get to vote for him. Glad I had the chance to vote for DK Harrel though.
Y’all are doing a great job!! Appreciate y’all keeping the blues Alive!! 🥰🙏🎶💙
Promoting artists
I appreciate what you to help artists like me. Thanks so much!

Promoting artist with a serious emphasis on the music!!!

these surveys need to be set up by a real webmaster. too much bandwidth takes too long to complete
You know what I mean.
It’s all good!
All good!
Excellent!
Great
keep us informed of their talent
Spot on
I like the fact that all artists on these polls are more of the working types of artists that work hard, write their own songs, go on the road, and are always striving to be better. I’m sorry that it had no mention of Danielle Nicole one of the greatest singers in the business and Coco Montoya another classic that’s still very active.
You’re doing Everything right
Excellent!
Keep doing what you’re doing!
Blues Artists need this publication.

All good!
Keep up the good objective aim to help people know more about the less sponsored artists.
Fun to read
Great! Thanks for everything you do
Excellent
love it
I obviously like the fact you promote independent music, and your broadbased musical approach though the biggest probem as with all American publications is the fact you mostly ignore the European blues scene….. ironically, the very terriritoy which keeps the music alive, particulary for American bands.
I also think your CD reviews are very good and of course your podcast.
Keep on keeping on Richard!
