Making a Scene Presents an Interview with the Pros – Junior and Sugar of Big City Rhythm and Blues Magazine
You would think that it would be unusual for a web magazine to interview the publishers of another magazine. But, Big City Rhythm and Blues Magazine is celebrating 25 years of print, which is an amazing accomplishment in a world where print magazines are disappearing and going digital. They have found a way to make it economically viable as well as be a valuable voice in the world of Blues and Roots music. In this world of the Pandemic Shutdown, this is more important than ever! Big City Rhythm and Blues is one of only two print magazines that cover blues as a genre!
Junior and Sugar are more than business partners. They are partners in life as both Husband and wife, but also share a kidney! Sugar donated one her kidneys for junior when he needed a transplant.
We talk to Junion and Sugar about the passion it has taken to bring Big City Rhythm and Blues to the newstand every month. We discuss the future of the blues and the music business in general as we move through this Pandemic Shutdown. This is an inspiring story of true survivors following their passion!
