Making a Scene Presents an Interview with Dustin Peterson of Funky Bluester
With roots firmly planted in the foundations of Rock-n-Roll from the 1960s and 1970s, Funky Bluester pays the reverence and homage due to the masters while simultaneously putting their own stamp on the genre. We call it “Quality Rock-n-Roll”. Funky Bluester has been earning a reputation as a must-see live rock-n-roll act in Atlanta and around the southeast.
Drawing from influences in all types of music, the trio pumps out original rock-n-roll that hearkens back to a time in music when live bands put every ounce of energy into their show and left it all on the stage after every performance. A time when the only thing that mattered was the song.
The riffs. The rhythms. The feeling of rock-n-roll. That’s what counts Funky Bluester focuses on delivering a power packed show of original music carrying on this tradition. The Allman Brothers Band. Cream. The Who. Free. Santana. Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys. Gov’t Mule. The Grateful Dead-Steeped in the style and techniques of these and similar classic artists, Funky Bluester continues the tradition of writing great songs with catchy hooks that any listener will appreciate.
When people ask “what does Funky Bluester sound like?” Our answer is always, “It’s Rock-N-Roll. And we guarantee you’ll like it.” Recent shows in Atlanta include the legendary Smith’s Olde Bar, The Hard Rock Café, Blind Willie’s Blues Club, Fat Matt’s Rib Shack, The Northside Tavern, Darwin’s and The Moonshadow Tavern. Funky Bluester has also taken the stage at the famous Nowhere Bar and 40 Watt Club in Athens, the Wayfarer Music Hall in Monroe, and numerous local festivals and establishments in Atlanta and the southeast.
