Over the decades Ireland has produced many fine artists in the world of blues. Legends like Rory Gallagher, and Gary Moore spring to mind . Dom Martin has certainly been impressing the fans who come along to his now legendary live gigs. So let’s talk about Dom’s new album A Savage Life .
The opening track Unsatisfied is a smoldering piece of blues rock, you hear / feel the energy of the song with the static sounding rasping guitar . What a great way to get things started. Then we have soulful blues of Here Comes The River . Dom uses his voice to maximum effect definitely goosebumps a plenty! Then there’s the sitting around the campfire feel to The Man From Nowhere. Followed up by 12 Gauge a blistering piece of blues rock. Also Echoes another Dom Martin classic. Right now that’s becoming the norm. The album finishes with Dom’s version of the Irish folk classic The Parting Glass . This is Dom’s second album and certainly judging by the amazing responses it’s receiving to date it’s looking like many more fan’s will be turned on to the magic that is Dom Martin. A Savage Life definitely takes no prisoners it’s a strong statement to the world that blues rock was never in better shape.
