BluesBerry Festival Coming This Weekend on June 17th in Norcross Georgia
Seven years ago the city Norcross Georgia wanted to have a blueberry day with all the restaurants in downtown Norcross doing blueberry dishes and drinks. Mike Holley, who worked at The Iron Horse Tavern in downtown Norcross, figured why not add blues music to the combination and call it Bluesberry. His friend Tixie, who worked for the city of Norcross, backed him on it. Before Mike knew it he knew it the Bluesberry Festival was off and running with Mike in charge of getting the bands, and Tixie taking care of setting up the rest.
Over the years, Mike took over the festival and it has become a fixture in the Norcross calendar of events! Many of the restaurants joining in and doing special dishes and The Iron Horse craft beer selection growing as well every year. The Festival attracts people from not only Norcross from all around the surrounding area! The festival is held every fathers day weekend in June. Its a special weekend to bring family and friends, with an intimate setting in this park nestled in downtown. In addition to the great Food, fun and craft beer the Festival is dedicated to presenting the best in local and Touring Blues bands. The music is the shinning star of the event with an amazing line up this year consisting of The Wasted Potential Brass Band, The Cazanovas, The Legendary Albert White and Beverly Guitar Watkins, Real Deal Blues Band and Cody Matlock!
Treat Dad and the Whole Family to a wonderful day of Fun, food, Beer and MUSIC!!
