Aled Hughes I Remember
Aled Hughes
I Remember
Today I want to introduce you to the singer/songwriter Aled Hughes who’s originally from North Wales, now based in the coastal town Llantwit Major.
Aled released four albums so far: It’s Acoustic, ’67, Earl Lane and the latest I Remember
“I Remember’ is an album which includes everything a great album should have. A lot of various songs and melodies, captivating lyrics and a brilliant work on the instruments.
I’ve picked some songs but you should make sure to listen to the whole album!
“Hold Her tight”, a fantastic start to the album, groovy and rousing, that’s Rock’N’Roll!
“Life’s a Journey”, a very melodical song, great vocals played with an increased tempo, great to listen to.
“Where Is Your Love”, a cool chorus in this song and again something that makes you feel well with the catchy melody.
“Lawr Ar Lan Y Mor” sung in welsh, even if very few of us will understand the language, this song puts you in a good mood after the first notes.
“Doing Time”, a song about a man locked in prison, a sad theme but the song is so well written and I love the touch of country sound.
“I Remember”, title song and one of the quieter songs on the album, again absolutely brilliant vocals.
I Remember is an album to enjoy, to be thoughtful and to listen to on every occasion. Good mood or rather melancholy, every listener will find something for their taste here. Aled shows a wide range of skills in his music and a wide range of moods too.
So it’s no wonder that his music is played very successfully on radio stations around the world. With the two languages in which he sings, he is a truly unique and original artist. And the fact that he sings his own songs as well as great covers from artists like Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan.. to name just a few… makes him one of the most diverse musicians I know.
So do yourself a favor and listen to this awesome artist and enjoy.
