Gracie Curran and The High-Falutin’ Band at Darwin’s in Marietta, GA March 5
Gracie Curran brought her High Falutin’ Band to Darwin’s Saturday night an what a great time that was! Gracie is such a funny, warm and entertaining person who also happens to have an amazing voice. She was ably accompanied by her band, brothers Mike and Nick Hern on bass and lead guitar respectively, and for this tirp, well-known Memphis drummer “Peanut.”
Gracie is just a natural, obviously born to be onstage. She kept us laughing between songs, telling stories about what it is like to travel in a van as the only girl with three guys for days at a time and searching the crowd for her future ex-husband.And then she would sing and we would just be slack-jawed listening to her perform a song like “Take You With Me.” Later, she gets us all participating with “Got My Mojo Working.” There were plenty of other songs and laughter.as Gracie poured her whole heart and soul into everything she did.
My husband and I had to leave at 11;30, before the second set began. But that first set was a marvelous experience and I guarantee that if you go out to see Gracie Curran and The High-Falutin’ Band you are going to experience lots of laughter, plenty of great music, and an over-all feeling of warmth that just shouldn’t be missed. We can’t wait to see her again!
