Hello fans and friends of Candye
Candye is still fighting the neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer she was diagnosed with in 2008. She writes:
“Still in hospital! Cedars Sinai in LA. I don’t know where people are getting the idea that I’m home! #3S26 is my room number but please don’t visit w/out calling first. I have been in hospitals since January 4 with just 2 days @ home! It’s really depressing here. I know I have 5 of the best dr’s in the nation and cedars is a great hospital but I am thru w this mishegoss (Yiddish for nonsense)!
They still haven’t found the source of this bleeding. Yesterday I had an endoscopy w the head of gastro-interology. He found that my stomach lining bled just when they tried to wash it w water. He said he had never seen that, in any of his patients. Leave it to me to get the weirdest cancer and the rarest condition anywhere! So I guess the next move is more tests.
Meanwhile I can’t work or make $$ so the situation is getting desperate. If you can help w a donation, every little bit helps. My paypal handle is still candyekanetour@aol.com
My wish is that they will diagnose me properly, fix the problem, and let me go back to making music. It is what gives my life meaning. I am sure I will be outta here by next week. In the meantime please keep those flowers, prayers and visualizations coming! They brighten up this dismal hospital room and raise my spirits. Love to you all!”
She needs your support now, more than ever. Please send money to her paypal account (info below). Any amount is appreciated and your generosity will help Candye pay the $700.00 a month for her expensive insurance as well as extras her insurance doesn’t cover.
For a $25.00 donation, you can receive a copy of her CD, The Power in You. The CD is only available through paypal, mail order or from Candye herself at a live show. To receive the Cd by mail, send $25.00 check or money order to Candye Kane at:
- paypal.com– send the donation to this email address: candyekanetour@aol.com
- or by check – made out to Candye Kane and sent to: 315 S. HWY 101 #47, Encinitas, CA, 92024.
Candye is grateful for all the love and support she receives for fans like you, all over the world. She is confident that she will beat cancer and be as good as new very soon. In the meantime, keep those cards, letters, emails, checks and white light and prayers coming.

Candye Update: The procedure took place on Wednesday and the doctors were successful in provoking and locating the bleed. Unfortunately, once it started it was very difficult to control and she suffered tremendous blood loss throughout the procedure and over the night. Things have stabilized more now and she is resting comfortably in the ICU. We knew this was a risk of the procedure but I don’t think anyone expected the level of blood loss that occurred. As always, she proves she is the Toughest Girl Alive and the medical team here at Cedars worked and worked along with her and never gave up. They cannot stop commenting on just how strong and tough she is. But she still needs all of our prayers and energy and light in hopes she continues to stabilize and they are able ween her off of sedation and the breathing tube and most of all, that the bleeding stops for good.
We all greatly appreciate everyone’s notes of well wishes, concern, phone calls, texts and offers to come and visit. Please do not take it personally if we do not respond to everyone. We are trying our best to process all that is happening during a very difficult time but rest assured you will all be updated as we are able to do so.
Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers and continue to send white light and continue to visualize her back onstage, in all of her beads and feathers, where she belongs and belting out “I’m The Toughest Girl Alive” for all of us.
