A Bluesman Comes to Town
Alligator Records
This new album is produced by Tom Hambridge who also co-writes and plays drums. He is widely known as the drummer/producer Buddy Guy where he plays the same roles. Hambridge is also co-writer along with Castro and his regular writing partner. A Bluesman Comes to Town is co-titled “a blues odyssey” and also features Kevin Mckendree on keyboards, Rob McNelly on guitar, and Tommy MacDonald on bass. Featured are outstanding songs such as the title track a “Bluesman Came To Town” and “Women, Drugs and Alcohol”. My favorite just might be the acoustic version of “Somewhere” that closes the album with some great acoustic guitar from McNelly. This is a must to own.
