Emily Glazener Finding Irene
Finding Irene
Today I have the great pleasure to write about Emily Glazener’s brand new album. Emily, based in Houston Texas has been making music since she was a teenager, playing in cover bands and performing solo acoustic shows. She is also the frontwoman of the very successful band Red Iris as well as the tribute band Joan Hearts. In November she released her first solo album “Finding Irene” and this album is one of the most beautiful I have heard in a long time. 12 great songs that Emily brings across with her very own passion. This passion can be felt in every single song, the love for music, the love for life, which is undoubtedly not always easy, but which she counteracts with her songs and her joie de vivre, which is palpable.
“Finding Irene” is an album that tells of love, suffering and lust and loss and even if some songs are emotionally so touching that you want to cry, it’s one of the most positive albums I’ve heard so far. Songs in which Emily gives deep insights and with her very own power. And also an album that is not limited to a genre but shows the whole diversity of Emily. It’s hard to say which song is my absolute favorite because I can’t get enough of them all.
A very special song, and I think it’s special for Emily too although of course all songs are special for her is “Spotlight” ! “Stand up and sing girl ,here comes the world…the lyrics are perfect as is the case with all songs.
Another favorite is “Trouble”, what a song…if you can keep your feet still here it’s your own fault, the first time I heard it I wanted to dance and of course I wanted to hear it again.
When I hear “Petal of a Rose” , so full of feeling, so emotional it’s hard to hold back a tear (and that’s what Emily says about this song too ) and what a wonderful love song. With “Like a Circle” such a positive song was created and the good mood set in shortly after listening.
These are just a few songs from an album that has impressed me a lot in this admittedly young year, not only because the music is impressive but also the artist. Anyone who has seen Emily’s videos or the short messages she sends to her friends and fans knows what I mean. More positivity and joie de vivre is not possible!
Producer Jørg Klein from Germany played all of the instruments on the album including: violin, brass, electric and resonator guitars, bass, and drums. His impeccable choices, playing and arranging helped ensure this album stands out. What a fantastic collaboration!
