When Rivers Meet
The Innocence Of Youth
The thing about Aaron and Grace Bond is their genuine warmth and friendliness that hits you right from the moment you meet them. The purpose of our interview was to discuss the eagerly anticipated new EP release,The Innocence Of Youth. Both are keen to tell me how excited they are about the new release. The five tracks on The innocence Of Youth each have their own character and qualities, that combine to make it a very pleasant listening experience indeed.
It kicks off with the title track, Aaron’s bluesy slide guitar gets things off to a fine start, then the amazing voice of Grace Bond kicks in! Wow! from then on the music explodes. No other words would be adequate to describe what these two create. The chemistry between Aaron and Grace is something to behold. Then we move to the next track, A Dead Man Doesn’t Lie.
This song opens with the ringing of Church Bells, again the storytelling and equally atmospheric music is fully evident in this tale of dead men, lonely churchyards, and dealing with the devil. The classic blues story gives the Aaron and Grace treatment.
Then it’s a change of vocal style on My Babe Says That She Loves Me. The harmonies on this track would give the Everly brothers a run for their money. Then it’s the turn of Fire the forth of the five tracks on the EP. There is very much a retro feel to this song, the audio takes you back in time to the period when the blues was young and the recorded sound primitive but so powerful, as is the vibe given from this track clearly demonstrates.
Then we come to the closing track, I want Your Love . A powerful slice of blues soaked music ,infused with a rocket charge of high voltage rock n’ roll. I can certainly see this song being a show closer. If you like blues with lots of passion, and a rhythm that sounds like a tiger trying to escape from its cage. Look no further.
The Innocence Of Youth is exactly what you’ve been waiting for.
