This weekend: Indie blues in and around Atlanta Nov 16-18
First of all, congratulations to the Atlanta Blues Society for winning a Keep The Blues Alive from the Blues Foundation! What a well-deserved honor for this group who do so much to support the blues! My husband and I are proud to be members! And you can experience our monthly gathering and jam this Sunday!
Now, on to where you can go to have fun and support live blues this weekend! Please note the benefit for Tommy Talton and my favorite group, The Jeff Jensen Band, is visiting too!
Friday
There is a Benefit for Tommy Talton at The Vista Room in Decatur featuring Wet Willie, Mike Veal Band & lots of special guests. George Hughley & The Shadows are at Blind Willie’s Tony Holliday is at Darwin’s in Sandy Springs. Art Holliday comes to Fat Matt’s Rib Shack and Stoney Brooks e is at Northside Tavern. 808 is at Nik’s Place in Marietta. The Breeze Kings are at Independent Grounds Café in Kennesaw.
Saturday
Sandra Hall & The Shadows are at Blind Willie’s. Darwin’s has Katie Martin’s Open Mc in the afternoon followed by The Jeff Jensen Band. Mr. Chapman’s Quarterly Revue is at Fat Matt’s. Andrew Black performs from 6-9 pm, followed by Sammy Blue at Northside Tavern. The Bretheren are at Nik’s Place and The Juke Joint Dukes are at Hemingway’s in Marietta. David T & Friends are at Smith’s Olde Bar.
Sunday
The Atlanta Blues Society Gathering & Jam with Lola hosting takes place from 3-6 pm at Darwin’s in Sandy Springs. Garrett Collins is t Fat Matt’s Rib Shack and Uncle Sugar is at Northside Tavern. The Juke Joint Dukes are at Hemingways in Marietta.
