This weekend: Indie Blues in and around Atlanta: December 15-17
As always there is a lot of good blues music going down this weekend, but the two HUGE things in my eyes are Victor Wainwright bringing good times and boogie-woogie piano to Darwin’s and the Royal Blue Holiday Celebration to benefit prostate cancer with Bobby Rush and Big Bill Morganfield! And don’t forget to take toys to Lola’s Toy Drive! Check out those events and what else is going on below:
Friday
Victor Wainwright and the Train come to Darwin’s and Houserocker Johnson & The Shadows are at Blind Willie’s. Dry White Toast hosts the Family Chritmas Extravaganza at Fat Matt’s and Stoney Brooks is at Northside Tavern. Jacks River is at Nik’s Place and Hurley and Good Company are at MoonShadow Tavern, The The Marcus King Band has a midnight show at Terminal West and Mudcat and the Atlanta Horns are at The Vista Room.
Saturday
The Tommy Talton Band is at Darwin’s. The Breeze Kings and Sandra Hall are at Blind Willie’s and Stove Top Slip is at Fat Matt’s. Frankie’s Blues Mission is at L. Marie’s Southern Cuisine in Kennesaw. Ike Stubblefield is at Northside Tavern. The Larry Griffith Band is at Taco Cowboy. Royal Blues Holiday Celebration and prostate Cancer Benefit with Bobby Rush and Big Bill Morganfield takes place at The Vista Room.
Sunday
Darwin’s is hosting Gospel Lunch with Kate Barnette and 10,000 Pontiacs are at Fat Matt’s. Lola’s Holiday Toy Drive is at Northside Tavern. Hot Toddies Cool Yule Christmas with Michelle Malone happens at The Vista Room.
That’s it! Have fun and keep on bluesin’!
