Making a Scene Presents an Interview with Trevor B Power

As singer-songwriter Trevor B. Power prepared to embark on his third album, he found himself in the capable hands of New York Blues Hall of Famer Dave Fields at the controls. With a collection of strong tunes in tow, Trevor and Dave, joined by some of the world’s most talented musicians, started on a journey to create something special. Their collaboration yielded impressive results that speak for themselves.

The bond between Trevor and Dave goes way back to the days when Dave hosted blues jams at the renowned Stanhope House. From their initial meeting, Dave expressed his desire to one day record and produce Trevor’s songs. After Trevor’s two successful albums with Anthony Krizan, which garnered significant airplay and chart recognition worldwide, the time finally arrived.

Opting to record at Farm189 Studios in Califon, NJ, Trevor and Dave aimed for a live feel for the record, with only minor adjustments made in post-production. Renowned drummer Steve Holley, known for his work with Paul McCartney & Wings, was brought in to lay down most of the drum tracks. Trevor fondly recalls the experience of working with Steve, describing it as a proud moment in his life. Steve’s impeccable timing and style added a new dimension to the songs, enhancing their drive and energy.

As Trevor ventures into his sixties, his passion for music remains undiminished. Whether strumming an acoustic guitar or shredding on electric, Trevor finds inspiration all around him, turning his thoughts and experiences into heartfelt lyrics. His songs reflect themes of self-awareness, the struggles of everyday life, and the universal emotions that connect us all.
